Working Principle
The Transformer Breather operates according to the breathing action of an oil-filled transformer. When transformer oil heats up, it expands and pushes air out through the conservator breathing system. When the oil cools, it contracts and draws atmospheric air back into the conservator. This incoming air passes through the silica gel inside the breather. The silica gel absorbs moisture before the air enters the transformer system.
When the indicating silica gel changes colour due to moisture absorption, it indicates that the silica gel may require regeneration or replacement. Regular inspection of the silica gel and breather oil cup helps maintain effective operation.
